Privacy notice
Version of 12 October 2026, under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Translation for information: only the French version is binding.
Who is responsible for your data?
ObjetsThèque Saint-Mathieu, Le Local, Promenade du Décanat 7, 1233 Bernex.
For any question about your data: objetstheque@saint-mathieu.ch.
What data, and why?
- Visiting the site: no personal data is collected. There is no advertising, no analytics tool and no content loaded from another site.
- Member account: first name, last name, e-mail address, phone number and postal address. This data is used only to manage your loans: identifying you at the counter, contacting you if an item is late or there is a problem, and sending you e-mails about your account (confirmation, return reminders, forgotten password).
- Loans: the items borrowed and the loan and return dates.
- Items lent to us by private individuals: the lender’s first name, last name, phone number, e-mail and address, the dates the item was deposited and is due to be collected, and its estimated value. This data is used only to return the items and to contact the lender; it never appears on the public site. It is deleted, on simple request, once the lender has taken back their items.
- Security: to protect accounts, the site briefly keeps technical records (login attempts, activity log). These records contain neither passwords nor contact details.
Your password is stored in an encrypted form that cannot be read back, not even by us.
Who can see your data?
Only the ObjetsThèque volunteers who manage the loans. Your data is never sold, lent or published. No information about members appears on the public site.
The site is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva), in its data centres in Switzerland. E-mails are sent from its servers in Switzerland. No data is transferred abroad.
How long?
- Your loan history is anonymised 2 years after the item is returned.
- An account with no activity for 3 years is deleted, after a warning e-mail.
- An account whose e-mail address has not been confirmed is deleted after 30 days.
